Melzer acquires license for Smartrac technology
Melzer, based in Schwelm, Germany, has signed a licensee agreement with Smartrac Technology to utilize Smartrac’s wire embedding process in its RFID manufacturing equipment.
Smartrac owns a patent on a process used to embed a wire antenna into a paper or plastic substrate used in RFID transponders. The process will be used by Melzer in conjunction with its solid tin soldering technology.
